In February 1944, the Allied Command approved Operation Overlord – the invasion of German Occupied Europe. There was growing optimism that the tide was turning. Come and relive those heady days, put on your glad rags or your uniform and dance to our band – Jump, Jive and Wail – and show those Yanks that we can jive and stroll as well as them! We are delighted that the Anderson family have agreed to DJ for the event and we hope to raise a good amount of money for the Alzheimer’s Society, as well as have a good night. We are also looking forward to special guest appearances by The AlkaSeltzer Sisters and by Mickey Ramsbottom.
Ian, Wendy, Jill and Murray hope to see you soon. If you want copies of the flyers or posters then please email us at york40sdance@gmail.com.
We hope everyone enjoyed the dance – we raised close to £2,310 for the Alzheimer’s Society.
